Lynn Brownridge and students

Razzamataz Lichfield!
Our principal at Edinburgh is Lynn Brownridge.

Lynn has been involved in theatre both amateur and professional since she was 8 years old. She has performed with numerous companies and in shows as popular as ‘Annie’, and as diverse as ‘Doghouse’ which was entered into the BT Connections National Festival, taking both principal and chorus roles in all productions.

Lynn has taken part in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for eight consecutive years, and was performing in ‘School Journey to the Centre of the Earth’ which won ‘Fringe First’ Edinburgh Evening News Capital Drama Award. Having had singing tuition from an early age, Lynn has obtained qualifications from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in voice and also a Grade 6 Musical Theatre qualification from the London College of Music.

Having performed in all aspects of theatre, Lynn undertook a BA(Hons) in Performing Arts in England gaining more experience in working with film, television and producing her own performances ‘I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change!’ was the highlight of the course for Lynn as she directed, produced and performed in this show which won excellent reviews from the jam-packed audiences!

Musical Theatre is Lynn’s main passion however taking part in streetdance and hip-hop lessons, is keeping her up to date!! Teaching both singing and drama at Razzamataz in Cumbria was an incredible experience for Lynn. She used the opportunity to create vocal harmonies and choral singing as well as increase individuals confidence by giving them the chance to sing solo. Choreographing original pieces of physical theatre with the children on topics such as war and bullying, has not only expanded the children’s range of talents but has given them the opportunity to express their views on such significant subjects.

The importance of broadening children’s talents and skills has had such an impact on Lynn, she wanted to bring this fantastic opportunity to all the enthusiastic and fun loving young people of Lichfield!
