Our principal at Derby is Shanley Booth!
Shanley started dancing at the age of 5 doing the obligatory ballet classes at the local dance school, then moving on to other disciplines of Tap and Jazz a little later on. She choreographed many of the school shows from the age of 14.
She went to Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama at the age of 16 straight from secondary school where she attended classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Street Dance, many more different dance styles and Singing and Drama. Throughout her time at stage school Shanley performed and choreographed a touring 70’s show called Disco Inferno which did the majority of major Night clubs and show venues in the country.
After Leaving Stage school she went on to perform in many different shows in the UK and Europe. She spent time working as a Dancer/singer on several cruise ships and performing in Casinos in Portugal and Greece as a dancer. In the UK she spent time at Oasis Centre Parks in the Lake District, Where she met Denise Hutton as the Choreographer. Also appeared as a lead vocalist touring the country in several different shows including “A Christmas Cracker” and “Dream Machine”.
Shanley now choreographs the Derby Ravens Cheerleading squad and has Ventured into the world of fitness where she teaches different dance based classes and reached the final of the Action UK Presenter Search 2006.
Over the years Shanley has had plenty of experience of teaching children and young adults in her own unique way and is looking forward to helping the youngsters of today develop their skills.
