Ellen Jameson and students

Razzamataz Littlehampton!
Our principal at Littlehampton is Ellen Jameson.

Ellen Jameson is an actress, director and theatre producer who has recently returned from America to live on the South Coast.

She is a former Fleet Street journalist and BBC broadcaster. As one half of the husband and wife team, The Jamesons, along with husband Derek, she presented a nightly late night radio show on Radio 2. Ellen has also appeared regularly on British television programmes including sitting in for Richard and Judy on ‘This Morning’.

Seven years ago Derek and Ellen decided to give up their high profile broadcasting career and move to America. They settled in Miami Beach, Florida, and enjoyed travelling to other States including California, Georgia, Carolina and Ohio; and also to South America and the Caribbean. Ellen pursued her performing career in America and took starring roles in several popular theatre productions including, ‘Entertaining Mr, Sloane’, ‘Fit To Be Tied,’ ‘Hannah Free’, ‘Don’t Hug Me’ and ‘Romeo and Juliet’ in the Hollywood Shakespeare Festival.

Ellen has also become a regular cast member in the traditional British Pantomime which tours all over Florida every holiday season and stars Mike Winters of Mike & Bernie Winters fame and Davy Jones of The Monkees. There was also the opportunity in Miami to take small parts in several films including a Frasier Christmas Special, ‘Mister Saint Nick’; she was an FBI agent in ‘Miss Miami’ and a fashion show guest in ‘Ocean Drive’, a Spanish television soap opera.

Ellen is the President of a Miami Beach Theatre Company called Fourth Dimension and has co-written comedy musical plays notably, ‘Sobe Wonderland – A Miami Experience’ and ‘BarWars’, which premiered in Florida. Using her playwriting experience, Ellen has facilitated workshops in US public schools teaching children to write and perform their own productions based on the school curriculum. She has also taken part in street theatre including children’s puppet shows.

Ellen is passionate in her belief that the creative arts inspire children and allow them to develop skills to perform on stage and in life. Having worked extensively in the media and the theatre, Ellen is now excited about the next stage of her career - as principal of the South Coast’s first Razzamataz Theatre School.
