Catherine Hayden and students

Razzamataz Yeovil and Street!
Our principal at Yeovil and Street is Catherine Hayden.

After an exciting and successful 18 years serving as a Physical Training Instructor with the Royal Navy, Catherine has established the Yeovil branch of Razzamataz following her desire to both run her own business and positively enhance the social, theatrical and physical skills of children.

During her career as a Physical Training Instructor in the Royal Navy, Catherine has served ashore, in the UK and abroad and at sea and seen first hand how personal confidence can be developed by performing in front of an audience.

She has had the opportunity to motivate and encourage people to take part in events. she has managed, ranging from flight deck sports to Ship’s theatre to large charity events and establishment pantomime. During the 1997 Military Tattoo at Earl’s Court, Catherine was the only female to take part in the Window Ladder Display Team as well as performing in the Hornpipe display.

Catherine has been involved with children throughout her career. She is a qualified swimming teacher, and spent 2 years touring schools with the Royal Naval Recruiting Team. In this role she liaised with the schools' PE Departments running fitness, dance and personnel development classes in addition to Royal Navy Presentations.

In 2005 Catherine was heavily involved with the Royal Naval Fitness Test, training as a Remedial Instructor working alongside physiotherapists in the rehabilitation of injured service personnel.

As a parent herself, Catherine is concerned at the poor level of fitness of this and future generations of children. Razzamataz affords a great opportunity to help children learn to value themselves, build confidence and gain life-long skills.

'I wanted to say thank you to you and all the staff at Razzamataz
for an excellent performance at the Somerset Music Spectacular.
The children clearly enjoyed the experience and they have obviously put
in a lot of hard work. The children were incredibly professional and
the singing was fantastic. Well done.'
